Morden won the overall championship at the Halton District School Board's Gough elementary track-and-field meet, held recently in Burlington. Morden finished in the top five of all six divisions at the meet, including victories in the intermediate boys' and senior boys' divisions, to earn 361 overall points. Burlington's Orchard Park was second with 241 points, Georgetown's Brookville was third with 234, and New Central -- which won the junior boys' pennant -- came fourth with 189. Individually, New Central's Graeme Dymond won three events (junior boys' 400-metre and 800m races, and long jump), while Morden's Vicky Mendonca (senior girls' long jump and high jump) and Yiwei Xia (intermediate boys' 100m and triple jump) won two each. Other local athletes to win events were Morden's Erica Resepeki (junior girls' 1,500m), J.J.
