/From a correspondent./ The barn of Mr. John Sargent, near this village, was burned last Thursday night together with contents, consisting of about ten tons of hay, one buggy, horse rake and several other articles. Loss about $2,000; insured for $1,000. The origin of the fire in unknown. Some think it was struck by lightning, while others are of opinion that it was caused by a tramp smoking while lodging for the night. Mr. D. Abby has his new house completed and will occupy it shortly. Spring wheat is rusted badly in this neighborhood.
