In accordance with notice, a meeting was held at the Council Chamber on Tuesday last to organize a Farmers' Institute for the North Riding of Grey. Jas. Bowes, Esq., Reeve of St. Vincent, took the chair, and explained the object of the meeting, after which members were called for, and the Institute organized with a membership of fifty-two. The following officers were elected:--Jas. Bowes, Jr. President; Robt. Cochrane, Vice President; Thos. Gordon, Sec. Treas. Directors--B. Allen and D. Creighton for Owen Sound; Alex Garvie and Jno. Robertson for Derby; Jno. Clark and S. Edmonstone for Keppel; Robt. McNaught and Wm. Garvie for Sarawak; D. Armstrong and Wm. Thomson for Sydenham; P. Christie and John Clark for St. Vincent; Jas. Cleland and John Douglass for Meaford. After a cordial vote of thanks to Mr. Bowes, for the interest he had taken in starting the Institute, the meeting was adjourned. The object of the institute is to hold conventions of farmers for the discussion of agricultural topics, and it is understood the services of the Professors of the Agricultural College will be available to deliver lectures at the conventions. The first will be held at Owen Sound, on a date to be hereafter fixed.--/O.S. Times./
