9 · OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, May 13, 2009 Reward offered for information leading to arrest of assailant A $2,500 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for an unprovoked attack on an Oakville man on May 3. The man was celebrating his birthday when, at around Correction In the Friday, May 8 edition of The Oakville Beaver it was incorrectly stated, in the story `Sudden Attack Leaves Boxer Clinging For Life,' the victim was coming from his girlfriend's apartment when attacked. In actuality he was coming from the My Apartment nightclub. The Oakville Beaver regrets the error and any inconvenience it may have caused. OAKVILLE COUNCIL 2:20 a.m., he was assaulted outside the My Apartment nightclub, located at the AMC Entertainment Complex. A witness to the incident said one of the victim's friends got into a verbal altercation with an unknown man at which point the victim asked the man if there was a problem. According to the witness, the man suddenly punched the victim in the face causing the victim to fall backward and hit his head on a cement walk- way. The victim is in a Toronto hospital where he has received surgery to relieve swelling to his brain. He remains in serious condition. The reward money was collected at a fundraiser at Arnold's Sports Bar on Sunday. Halton police spent Friday and Saturday night canvassing the AMC Entertainment Complex and while additional witnesses to the incident were discovered, the identity of the suspect is still a mystery. The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, 5-foot10, with a muscular build, and short light or medium brown hair, which was spiked on top. At the time of the attack the man was clean-shaven and was wearing a white or lightcoloured shirt and blue jeans.
