11 · OAKVILLE BEAVER Fire causes $150,000 damage A Newcastle Crescent family was fortunate to escape unharmed after a Saturday morning fire caused around $150,000 worth of damage to their home. Fire officials received a 911 call at around 10:30 a.m. reporting flames coming from the home's garage. Five fire trucks arrived on the scene moments later to find the garage engulfed in fire and some with the fire also extending to the second floor of the home. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within half an hour. A car and motorcycle within the garage were completely destroyed, while a second car received moderate damage. The Oakville Fire Department Fire Prevention Unit is trying to determine the cause of the fire. GRAND .
