There will be light refreshments and a silent auction. Tickets cost $25 per person. Children under 12 are free. Oakville's Amnesty Group 75 is part of a worldwide organization fighting for human rights and supporting human rights defenders. Since its inception in 1981, the 17 prisoners of conscience assigned to Amnesty Oakville have all been released. Presently Group 75 is working on behalf of Huseyin Celil, a Canadian citizen from Burlington who was arrested in Uzbekistan while on a family visit and extradited to China. Amnesty Oakville meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Incarnation and welcomes new members. CD release concert Oakville band Viveynne is holding a CD release party for the album Becoming Jane Doe on May 22 at 8:30 p.m. at Hardball Café, 8750 Hwy. 25 in Milton.
