The longer term trend for Ontario housing starts has been one of high starts levels gradually edging lower from peak levels in 2003-04. "As expected, Ontario construction Ontario residential home starts up in March activity moved up closer to trend in March. Strong demand for condominium units were registered well into 2008 and these projects continue to break ground into 2009 given the long production cycle associated with apartment development", said Ted Tsiakopoulos, CMHC`s regional economist. "However, a well supplied resale and new home market will create headwinds for the residential construction industry in 2009", added Tsiakopoulos. As Canada's national housing agency, CMHC draws on more than 60 years of experience to help Canadians access a variety of quality, environmentally sustainable, and affordable homes -- homes that will continue to create vibrant and healthy communities and cities across the country. 2 for ent 009 news 33 · OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, April 10, 2009 r You Be nv st I est m Builder's Clearance from $224,900 Allan Roshko (905)632-4444 ext. 233 aroshko@burlingtonpost.com nh P this week 47 Caroline Street North, Hamilton NEW HOMES MANAGER Lisa Baxter ADVERTISING & MARKETING CONSULTANT Downtown Living at it's finest.
