Auto Expo is student friendly Are You Happy With Your Smile? An Auto Expo geared for students who will be purchasing cars in the next few years -- complete with test drives -- will be held at Sheridan College on Wednesday, April 8. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the college campus located at 1430 Trafalgar Rd. in the SCAET Wing Loop. According to Thomas Jasiolek of the Sheridan College Institute of Advanced Learning and Technology, he and a group of students, called Fast Lane Promotions, are hosting the expo as part of a school assignment on creating an on-campus marketing event. "Typically most students run pub nights or barbecue fundraisers or bakes sales, but we've come up with something that has never been done in school history," said Jasiolek. "This event is targeted directly towards the students who will be purchasing cars in the next few years," he said. It bucks the trend as there is no admission, attendees will have the opportunity to test drive cars and will be able to access ways to find the right car for their money. Up for examination will be ecofriendly and student-priced vehicles. The expo is designed to inform students of their options and to determine what they like, while helping benefit the automotive industry, which is struggling from this recession. TDCanadaTrust financial representatives will also be on hand to assist students make informed decisions about their financing, student loans and credit cards, as well as investment advice. A barbecue at the expo will also support the Sheridan College Student Union Food Bank. There will also be a draw to win a Smart Car for a week.
