The awards are a meaningful way to say thank you to the people who make a difference in education and to highlight successes in the community. "Working with the students is a reward every day and I feel truly honoured to have been recognized for that work," said Tracy Napper Sharpe, a teacher in Durham and a 2008 recipient of a Premier's Award for Teaching Excellence for New Teacher of the Year.
