On November 3rd, 2008 at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Janet (nee Ince), father of Anne Campbell (Don) and Peter, and grandfather of Carolyn. He was predeceased by his son, David. Bor n in Bathurst, N.B., he attended Dalhousie University and the University of Western Ontario. During WWII, Jack served as a Lieutenant in the Canadian Navy (RCNVR) aboard corvettes and destroyers and retired as a Lieutenant Commander. He was a partner in Woods Gordon & Co., an officer and director of CI Power Ltd., Bowater Canadian Ltd., Bonar Inc. and Buchmin Inc. and a director of a number of other companies. He was active in community organizations in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Oakville, including President of the United Way of Oakville and Chairman of the Oakville Public Library. His loyalty and his opinions were valued by those who knew him. A memorial service will be held at St. Jude's Church, 160 William Street, Oakville, Ontario on Friday, November 7th, 2008 at 12 noon. Flowers gratefully declined. No visitation.
