10 - The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday November 5, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Insider's $10K win approved An Oakville woman who sells lottery tickets has been approved to pick up her $10,000 winnings after an independent investigation confirmed her win to be legitimate. Cheesoon Ha of Oakville won $10,000 playing Deal or No Deal Instant Lottery Game No. 1371. As an Ontario Lottery Game (OLG) retailer, her prize fell within OLG's definition of an insider win. Insiders include people who sell, redeem and distribute lottery products, or family members -- a spouse, children, parents, siblings as well as any other relative not described here who resides in the same household -- of insiders and OLG employees. Under one of the stipulations of OLG's Related Party/Insider Win Policy, major prize claims by insiders are subject to an independent investigation. This investigation has been completed and the prize claim by Ha has been approved for payment. The rules also require that payment of Insider prize claims be withheld for 30 days to allow anyone with concerns to come forward. The prize claim also must be publicly announced and posted on OLG.ca. OLG can be contacted at 1800-387-0098. The ticket was purchased at Smoke Variety located on Dundas Street East in Oakville. Ha will collect her cash in early December, after the 30-day wait period.
