The Marlies, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, will conduct a practice Oct. 15 at Kinoak Arena. The practice is the first of five planned Marlies practices to be held around the Toronto area this season as the team makes an effort to connect with minor hockey associations in the GTA. A number of Minor Oaks Hockey Association minor novice players will watch the Marlies' practice at Kinoak as Greg Gilbert, Doug Gilmour and Joe Paterson coach the club through a pro hockey practice. With 15 minutes remaining in the session, the MOHA players will take the ice and join the entire Marlies team in interactive drills. Following the practice, which will run from 6-7 p.m., the Marlies will participate in a team autographsigning session. The Hornets outscored the opposition 30-2 in four recent victories. Oakville defeated the Burlington Barracudas 3-1, hammered the Mississauga Chiefs 13-1 and 10-0, and then blanked Burlington 4-0.
