www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver Weekend, Saturday September 27, 2008 - 21 Get tickets to Candlelight Ball The Oakville Hospital Foundation's premier fundraising event, the OTMH Candlelight Ball, aims to raise $550,000 to purchase essential medical equipment for Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH). Barrington's Fine Outerwear and Murron's Cabinetree are copresenting sponsors, a designation they have held for several years. So why do these local business owners continue year after year to support the hospital through sponsoring the Candlelight Ball? According to Foundation officials, they are passionate about making a difference in the community they live and work in. "Sponsoring the OTMH Candlelight Ball is our way of saying thank you to a community that has been so supportive to us both personally and professionally over the years," said Paul Barrington, of Barrington's Fine Outerwear. "We are confident our participation is helping to make a difference to the health of our community, as evidenced by the recent expansion of the hospital's ICU, thanks in part to our past contributions," said Murray Farncombe, of Murron's Cabinetree. The Candlelight Ball's fundraising focus especially appeals to Barrington and Farncombe because the money raised is used to purchase hospital equipment that isn't covered by government funding. The OTMH Candlelight Ball will be held Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Burlington Convention Centre. The gala's theme is To Russia With Love. Join more than 600 guests for a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner and dance to the sounds of the Anita Rossi Band. Local auctioneer Don Stewart will lead a live auction featuring many unique items.
