Pedestrian traffic will remain closed until construction of boulevards and sidewalks is completed at the end of November. Since November 2007, Fourth Line has been under construction to facilitate improvements to the QEW by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO). The opening date for Fourth Line was adjusted by 30 days to accommodate the extensive utility relocation work around the new bridge. The MTO is currently undertaking highway expansion work to provide High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes on the QEW through Oakville between Burloak Drive and Trafalgar Road. The QEW highway expansion work is expected to be completed by the summer of 2011.
