The fair will run from 6-8 p.m. in the Auditorium of OTMH, 327 Reynolds St. Volunteers are sought to work in direct patient care and indirect support services and could be men, women or youths aged 14 and over. At the fair, volunteer and staff representatives from various areas of the hospital will be available to discuss the different volunteering opportunities. Refreshments and complimentary parking will be provided. "Volunteering is all about service to others and giving back to the community. It is a great opportunity to be part of a team, learn new skills and develop lasting friendships," said Doug Coate, president of the Auxiliary to OTMH. Last year the Auxiliary raised $330,000 for the purchase of much-needed medical equipment and the refurbishment of various areas of the hospital. "We have a variety of front-line and leadership volunteering opportunities available, including direct patient care areas such as inpatient units, patient transport, ophthalmology, and surgical day care. We are also looking for individuals who might be interested in working at the information desk, compiling charts or taking on a leadership position on the Auxiliary board," said Daniels.
