He is teaming up with Barkman again, with a release date set for summer 2009. The new book will feature a secondary character named Michelle. "There isn't a lot like this out on the market for young ladies that want to play sports and with Michelle, hopefully it will inspire some young girls to get into golf or into sports period," O'Shea said. "Hopefully parents read it with their kids and talk about how they are going to go about playing competitive sports and I think it will really benefit them." Author and golf instructor Conor O'Shea O'Shea is also releasing a line of merchandise around what he anticipates will become a series of children's golf books. He plans on penning books about other sports, with hockey in mind, if the golf series is a success. Although Marcus' Golfing Adventures is geared towards readers aged five to 12, O'Shea said that adults can also pick up a few lessons. "It's really a book about teaching adults and kids about golf," he said. "Hopefully parents read it with their kids and talk about how they are going to go about playing competitive sports, and I think it will really benefit them." The RBC Canadian Open runs July 21 to 27 at Glen Abbey Golf Club. The book will be available on site at the pro shop and at concession stands. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the book at the RBC Canadian Open will go to Canadian Orthopedic Association.
