The theft occurred in the parking lot of Hopedale Mall, on Thursday, May 8, when a man grabbed the purse of a 59year-old Oakville woman as she made her way from the mall to her car. A struggle between the two ensued, but the man was able to overpower the victim and flee the area with her purse and an undisclosed amount of money. The woman suffered nonlife threatening injuries during the attack. Members of the Oakville Investigative Bureau have charged Kevin Arseneault, 43, already in custody at Maplehurst Detention Centre in Milton, with one count of robbery and one count of breaching probation.
