"Residents of the watershed have inherited a rich natural legacy," said CH chair Brian Penman. "One of the reasons these areas have been preserved and maintained is the fact many groups and individuals are doing good conservation deeds." The corporate award went to the Ford Oakville Assembly Plant for its Fumes to Fuel initiative, which will convert waste emissions from the plant into fuel to generate electricity. CN Rail took the stewardship prize for relocating populations of a rare prairie grass growing on the rail's right-of-way. The Ralph Sherwood Conservation Honour Roll, which goes to someone who has made a significant and long-term contribution to conservation. This year's recipient was former MPP and Ontario cabinet minister -- as well as former director of the Conservation Halton Foundation -- James Snow. "I have known Jim for over 30 years and his actions over a lifetime of community service and support speak loud and clear, and the Halton watershed is a little greener because of his efforts," Penman said. Snow was instrumental in acquiring a grant for the reconstruction of the Iroquoian Village and Conservation Centre at Crawford Lake Conservation Area in Milton in the early 1980s. He was a key fundraiser and made financial gifts toward various projects. Recognition also went to landowner participants in the Hamilton-Halton Watershed Stewardship Program. The final awards were presented to three participants of the Stream of Dreams watershed awareness program -- Sunningdale Public School in Oakville, Burlington's Discovery Landing Centre and the Burlington Children's Festival. $553 LEASE PER MONTH $10,000 DOWN 3.99%* LEASE APR FOR 48 MONTHS RECEIVE A CURRENCY INCENTIVE OF AND $7,200+ $3,000 = $10,200 TOWARDS YOUR A DOWN PAYMENT N LOYALTY T SAVINGS THE 2008 VOLVO XC90 VOLVO OF OAKVILLE, 770 Pacific Road, Oakville (905) 825-8088 WWW.VOLVOOFOAKVILLE.COM M *Lease available on approved credit to qualified retail customers through Volvo Car Financial Services Canada on XC90 3.2 AWD at 3.99% lease APR and $553.31/month for 48 months with $10,000 down and $650 security and first month's payment due at lease inception.
