www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday April 4, 2008 - 35 OAS student show April 10-13 They've been working on this for a whole year -- the Oakville Art Society (OAS) Annual Student Show from April 10-13. The Oakville Art Society students exhibit some of their most successful works which have been created in the various classes during the year. The four-day show is at the OAS studio, 560 Bronte Rd. The show allows each student to submit three two-dimensional or threedimensional work in any media. There are four awards: · People's Choice -- for pottery and painting · The Micheline Likas Award was created by the OAS to honour the years of dedication and hard work put forth by potter, painter and retired OAS director Micheline. This award is judged and will be presented annually to the best student potter. · The Helen Hendry Award was created by the OAS to honour the years of dedication and hard work put forth by painter and retired OAS director Helen. This award is judged and will be presented annually to the best student painter. The show is open to all 2007 and 2008 students.
