42 - The Oakville Beaver, Friday March 28, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Oakville Symphony invites youths to meet a pianist The Oakville Symphony Orchestra is inviting youths to Meet a Pianist on Saturday, April 12. The orchestra continues its series of mini-concerts in the form of an entertaining, informative and interactive presentation by Sarah Zbogar, a musician in piano, violin and voice. Zbogar earned a Royal Conservatory ARCT degree in both piano and violin. Formerly a high school music teacher, she now teaches private piano lessons. Zbogar is also a violinist with the symphony. The mini-concert is 30 minutes long, and is aimed at all ages, but especially children aged four to nine years. Meet a Pianist will take place Saturday, April 12 at St. Matthew's Parish Church, at the intersection of Monks Passage and Nottinghill Gate. There will be two performances, at 10 and 11 a.m. Admission is free, but spaces are limited and should be reserved by phone at 905-844-6920 or by e-mail at osochildrenconcert@gmail.com. From 2-5 p.m., paintings by local artists will be featured at the event, hosted by Trafalgar Township Historical Society. The exhibition will feature the original art of Thelma Ledgerwood's Palette Pals. Artists include Michele Arishenkoff, Elizabeth Doucette, Cher Guest, Kanishka Baduge, Mérope Ledgerwood, Thelma Ledgerwood, Stuart McCulloch, Emma Bramma Smith, Anne Smith, Shirley Tilden, Carol Tuck and John Venner.
