The ECO is making plans to come to Halton Monday, Feb. 11 to take part in a public meeting being organized by the Region. It'll run from 6:30 ­7:30 p.m. at the Halton Regional Centre, 1151 Bronte Rd., Oakville. Miller will discuss the relationship between his annual report -- entitled Reconciling Our Priorities -- and the Province's Places to Grow plan and also share his `green' suggestions for Halton, in light of the Sustainable Halton growth management initiative the Region is currently undertaking. Pud By Steve Nease snease@haltonsearch.com Police release image of suspect Halton Police have released surveillance footage of a man wanted in connection with a bungled robbery that took place at an Oakville Hasty Market on Wednesday. Police said that at around 11 p.m. a man walked into the Hasty Market located at 1011 Upper Middle Rd. and threatened the lone employee, stating that he had a knife. The employee was not impressed by this threat and stated that he also had a knife. In the end the man asked for a pack of cigarettes, which the employee turned over and then fled the store when a witness entered. Robbery No one was harmed during the robbery. suspect The suspect is described as white 5-foot-8, 30 years old, clean shaven, with dark curly hair and dark eyes. He wore a black leather jacket with blue jeans. The Halton Regional Police Service is continuing to investigate this incident and anyone with information related to it is asked to contact the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2215 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800222-TIPS (8477).
