Police said a white Pontiac Sunfire was travelling west on the QEW, at about 10:45 p.m. when it collided with a Nissan Altima. After this initial crash a Chevrolet Astro Van then broadsided the Pontiac. The 55-year-old female driver of the Pontiac, a resident of Hamilton, was transported to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. Her condition was later upgraded from critical to serious. The OPP is continuing to investigate this incident.
