34 - The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday December 12, 2007 www.oakvillebeaver.com What do you bring to the table, Oakville? By Krissie Rutherford OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF What do you bring to the table? The Oakville Galleries want to know. The local galleries have teamed up with The Oakville Beaver to give Oakville residents a chance to submit pictures showing what they bring to their tables literally. "It could be multicultural traditions, it could be a bridge club, a poker game, a board meeting whatever happens around their table," said curator Marnie Fleming. "It could be the little guy that pours spaghetti over his head." A selection of the pictures submitted to the Galleries will be published in The Oakville Beaver for 18 weeks, starting in February 2008. At the same time, Gairloch Gardens will house an exhibition called What We Bring to the Table, featuring photos, videos and more that investigate the uses of the table and food in everyday family life. It's Oakville Galleries' hope that the community will want to demonstrate what they bring to the table as well. "It's something everybody can be a part See Gairloch page 35 Did you know? $100 provides a child access to programs to develop that child's self-esteem to enhance interactivity at school and in the community.
