The Canadian Golf Hall of Fame is selling formerly used museum-quality display pieces. Items include photos and text panels from past exhibits and displays. Prices range from $5 to $50, with a few exceptions. The sale is a fundraiser for the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and will take place Sunday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 16. The fundraiser will be held at the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame located at 1333 Dorval Dr. The sale will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and will stay open until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12. New guide to the arts The Oakville Arts Council will launch the inaugural 2008 Guide to the Arts on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Central Library branch. Thanks to the support of The Ontario Trillium Foundation, the inaugural Guide to the Arts will be distributed to 38,000 households to show the community what makes up the united voice of the arts in Oakville. The Ontario Trillium Foundation has granted the Oakville Arts Council $52,000 over three years to develop and distribute a pocket Guide to the Arts in Oakville. This publication will help promote awareness and encourage participation in arts and cultural activities in the community. This launch will double as an opportunity for Oakville Arts Council members to educate Oakville about its art. Members of the Oakville Arts Council have been offered the opportunity to bring their own promotional materials showcasing their unique holiday gifts and upcoming events as well as information about classes they offer.
