Hamid Bashani Khan, South Asian Peoples Forum 3 YRS 5.70% 5 YRS 5.99% 5 YEAR Variable Rate Mortgage -0.75% PRIME Pakistan President Pervaiz Musharraf's army regime now appears to be targeting lawyers and judges outraged by the suspension of Pakistan's constitution. Hamid Bashani Khan, the founder of South Asian Peoples Forum (SAPF), called Musharraf's imposition of emergency rule an assault on human rights and civil liberties. "The imposition of emergency rule in Pakistan is an unjustified action against the people of Pakistan. Fundamental rights and civil liberties must be restored immediately," said Bashani Khan, who also lives in Oakville and has a law office in Mississauga. SAPF is demanding that the emergency rule be lifted immediately in Pakistan, that hundreds who have been arrested be released, and democracy be fully restored.
