John Kamp of Oakville Volkswagen/Audi Centre Oakville, ranked #1 North America against other Audi Aficionados at the annual Twin Cup Challenge. Number one in North America. This is the latest of John Kamp's career achievements. Kamp is a technician with Oakville Volkswagen/Audi Centre Oakville. Recently he competed against 38 other Audi aficionados, who each rank among the best across North America. The annual competition is called the Twin Cup Challenge and it's held in the Audi Learning Centre in Atlanta, Georgia. Just to even get to this level of the competition is a feat. An estimated 7,400 service employees around the globe sign up for the competition. The Twin Cup is a worldwide motivational and training program that places the focus on Audi Service knowledge. The event is certainly familiar territory for Kamp. Since 2000 he's made top 10, five times and earned title as best in Canada six times. Now that Kamp has been bestowed with the continental crown, he moves on to the next set of challengers. In 2008 he heads off to the international round of the Twin Cup, testing his technical aptitude, product knowledge and skills against 35 technicians who are tops in their part of the world too. The top 10 winners in final receive an all expenses paid Caribbean trip for two to the Grand Cayman Islands. Born and raised in Oakville, Kamp started with Oakville Volkswagen/Audi Centre Oakville 27 years ago as an apprentice. He has worked his way up to Master Audi Technician, and now, number one in North America. As the shop foreman, Kamp is in good company at the 1345 North Service Rd. W. dealership. All five of his coworkers on the shop floor have also achieved their Master Guild Certification making it the only Audi dealership in the GTA to do so. Combined the team has 118 years of experience with Audi and Volkswagen. Customer satisfaction is the overriding objective for mounting such a demanding challenge. And with tops in North America under his belt, Kamp admirably demonstrates an overall aptitude that is second to none.
