NOTICE OF STUDY COMMENCEMENT Falgarwood Creek Reach 54 Stabilization and Rehabilitation Project Class Environmental Assessment Study The Corporation of the Town of Oakville intends to undertake remedial work to address the problem of erosion and creek stability of Falgarwood Creek from the Morrison-Wedgewood Diversion Channel to Gainsborough Drive (see map). The study is being initiated to develop, evaluate and recommend preferred alternatives for the stabilization and rehabilitation of the creek channel and banks, along with possible flood/flow control improvements along Falgarwood Creek. The study will involve taking an inventory of the local physical and social environment to determine the nature of the problem. Once the problem is fully understood, a set of alternative solutions will be evaluated and presented to the public and to applicable agencies for comment. The Study is being carried out in accordance with the planning and design process for `Schedule B' projects as outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (June 2000). The Class EA process includes public/external agency consultation, and an evaluation of alternative solutions and alternative design concepts. Public input and comment are invited for incorporation into the planning and design of this project. This notice first issued October 24, 2007 NOTICE OF STUDY COMPLETION Wedgewood Creek Reaches 59/60 Stabilization and Rehabilitation Class Environmental Assessment The Town of Oakville intends to undertake remedial work to address the problem of erosion and creek stability of Wedgewood Creek from the upstream limit of the Morrison-Wedgewood Diversion Channel to Grand Boulevard (see map). The study has been undertaken to develop, evaluate and recommend preferred alternatives for the stabilization and rehabilitation of the creek channel and banks, along with possible flood/flow control improvements along Wedgewood Creek. Replacement of the pedestrian bridge and staircase system was also included as part of this study. A set of alternative solutions has been evaluated and a preferred solution presented for comment. Agencies and stakeholders which have provided comments and participated in the study include Conservation Halton, landowners adjacent to the creek block, and neighbourhood residents who use the trails. Members of the public are invited to provide written comments on this matter to the Town of Oakville or its consulting engineer, Philips Engineering Ltd., by November 26, 2007 (contact information can be found at the bottom of this notice). The study was completed in compliance with Schedule `B' of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (June 2000) process.
