www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday October 19, 2007 - 43 Poetry Café Sunday The next Poetry Café is Sunday, Oct. 21 from 12 ­ 2 p.m. at the Moonshine Café, 137 Kerr St. The feature poet will be Penn Kemp, who has published 25 books of poetry and drama, 10 CDs and Canada's first poetry CD-ROM. Kemp has taught creative writing and performed her work worldwide since 1966. The League of Poets proclaimed Penn one of the foremothers of Canadian poetry. She also hosts Gathering Voices on CHRW FM, literature-on-air heard every second Wednesday at 6 p.m. The guest poet at the café will be April A. Severin. Each poetry café begins with readings by local poets, guest poets and feature poets and ends with an open mic. People are encouraged to bring their poems to share. The $8 admission goes toward the cost of the feature poet and the chapbook made of the poems read that day. Those who arrive by 12 p.m. will be eligible for the draw for the door prize.
