Last Saturday, MacLachlan College in Oakville was the host to the Annual General Meeting for the Ontario chapter of the MacLachan clan. Clan MacLachlan is one of the oldest of all Scottish Clans. According to Irish manuscripts, the Clan is descended from the same line as the O'Neills, High Kings of Ireland. The MacLachlan Clan has members all over the world and is a thriving community of people who wish to keep their distinguished heritage alive. The Ontario chapter is particularly active and its members have taken an interest in the Oakville school that bears the name of their proud heritage. As an integral part of MacLachlan's history through its heritage building and location in Old Oakville, MacLachlan College also celebrates its historic connection with the MacLachlan Clan and the rich heritage it brings. The school's co-founder Colin Hadfield, is a member of the MacLachlan Clan through his maternal lineage. The school was named to celebrate this ancestral connection.
