Flynn's campaign party, which was held at the International Union of Operating Engineers Banquet Hall, enjoyed a relatively stress-free night as Flynn took an early lead in the polls and refused to give it up. The election (unofficially) finished with Flynn receiving 23,757 votes, Progressive Conservative candidate Rick Byers with 16,666 votes, Green Party candidate Marion Frances Schaffer at 3,912 votes, NDP candidate Tony Crawford receiving 3,178 votes and Family Coalition Party candidate Michael James Toteda with 281 votes.
