The therapists at Be in Motion have been effectively using LASER to treat musculoskeletal problems facing our clients. LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by the Stimulation Emission of Radiation. LASER therapy has been proven effective for many types of conditions including low back pain, Fibromyalgia, muscle strains and tendonitis, tennis and golfer's elbow and knee pain. Several dermatological conditions can also be effectively treated with LASER because red light is absorbed at the surface of the skin. The therapeutic benefits of LASER include rapid cell repair, faster wound healing, increased metabolic activity, reduced swelling and stimulated nerve function. As an Athletic Therapist and Physiotherapist I see patients of all ages, backgrounds and activity levels. We use LASER in the early stages of therapy because it is proven effective and is welltolerated by all ages and conditions. A variety of specialties including neurosurgery, physiotherapy, athletic therapy, massage therapy, dentistry and podiatry use LASER therapy. LASER therapy offers therapists a new modality which allows us to illicit positive therapeutic results. In conjunction with LASER, regular exercise and sporting activities have been linked to positive results in terms of cardiovascular fitness, a reduction of body weight, some disease prevention and an overall better quality of life. Several clinics in the Oakville area offer LASER treatments. The most common used website for more information on the benefits of LASER is www.theralase.com.
