www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday October 5, 2007 - 23 Get your markers out and start colouring T he Oakville Santa Claus Parade is pleased to launch its annual colouring contest, created again this year by Steve Nease, well-known for his entertaining Pud cartoons published weekly in The Oakville Beaver. Children 10 and under will have the chance to win the seat beside Mrs. Claus, and ride at the start of this year's parade alongside the Parade Grand Marshall. Nicole Parsons, last year's winner, rode in a Cinderella carriage with Mrs. Claus and had this to say about her experience: "Mrs. Claus is really nice and being in the parade with her was fun." Nicole's advice to other children is to take extra special care when colouring so that they too can have the chance to ride with Mrs. Claus in the Santa Claus Parade. The colouring contest is now available online and will appear in the Kids Section of The Oakville Beaver on Oct. 6 and Oct. 20. Children can get creative and into the Christmas spirit by colouring a collage of children celebrating `Christmas through the Decades', this year's parade theme. Kids, hurry and get your markers and crayons out because the colouring contest runs only until Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. For contest rules and to download your entry form, check out our website at www.oakvillesantaclausparade.ca . Now in its 59th year, the Oakville Santa Claus Parade is a cherished tradition in our Town. The 2007 parade takes place Saturday, Nov. 17 beginning at 9 am. This year's parade will begin at Lakeshore Road and Reynolds, go west on Lakeshore to Kerr Street, north on Kerr and end at Kerr and Stewart Streets.
