The Oakville Historical Society is inviting members of the community on an evening ghost walk, featuring an hour-long tour through the streets of Olde Oakville to hear tales of olden days and of those who never passed over. The Oakville Historical Society will host the ghost walks on Thursdays and Saturdays beginning Saturday, Sept. 22 and ending Saturday, Oct. 27. The cost is $12 per adult, $6 per child. Oakville Galleries artist's talk Oakville Galleries is hosting a talk by artist, academic, writer and curator Derek Knight, on the state of major international exhibitions and biennials. The talk will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Central Branch of the Oakville Public Library, 120 Navy St. It will be followed by a discussion. Knight's talk, Global Positioning Art: Mapping Kassel, Munster and Venice, is based on recent journeys to three of the art world's biggest events. He will speak on the significance of the three exhibitions. Knight is currently an associate professor in the department of visual arts at Brock University.
