Police discover grow-op in basement Police put a major marijuana grow operation out of commission Wednesday after executing search warrants at a residence in Oakville. Members of the Halton Regional Police Service, Drug and Morality Bureau raided 1412 Will Scarlett Dr. where they discovered 456 marijuana plants in the basement. The majority of the plants were nearing the point when they would be harvested, reported the police. A half-pound of fresh marijuana and a large quantity of electrical equipment was also located and seized. Police found a hydro by-pass to be operating the marijuana grow equipment. The value of the operation is estimated at approximately $465,000. Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, producing a controlled substance, theft of electricity under $5,000, occupant injure a dwelling house and drive disqualified is, Thanh Trung Pham, 32, of Toronto.
