In addition to Kara Lang and Diana Matheson (see page 28) playing on the Canadian women's soccer team, the following athletes will also be representing Canada in Rio: · Jamie Andison will team up with Burlington's Mark Klevinas to compete in the C-2 (canoe pairs). The 21-year-old got his first taste of international competition in 2004 and his since won nine medals on the world stage. Most recently he won a gold medal in the under-23 C-4 500m last June at an international regatta in Poland... Competition dates: July 25-29 · Oskar Johansson is a veteran sailor who finished 15th at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. He teamed with Kevin Stittle to win the French Olympic in April, a race considered to be the most prestigious regatta next to the world championships. It was the first win by a Canadian at the event in more than 20 years. Johansson has also won international regattas in France and Holland over the past three years... Competition dates: July 22-28 · Kyle Jones finished ninth at the World Under-23 triathlon championships in 2005 and had a seventh-place finish at a World Cup in Newfoundland last year, one of three top-15 finishes on the circuit. The 22-year-old was sixth at last year's national championships in Brampton... Competition date: July 15 · Rhythmic gymnast Suzanne Lendvay finished sixth all-around at the Junior Pan Am Games in 2004, taking the gold in clubs and helping Canada earn a silver medal in the team competition. Last year she was a member of the Olympium Rhythmic Gymnastics Club's senior group national championship team... Competition date: July 27 · Dan Lewis has played more than 50 matches since joining the national men's volleyball team in 2001. The 6foot-6 left-side hitter is a key component in the Canadian offence and has a wealth of experience, having played professionally in Poland. Now 31, Lewis was named the MVP after leading the University of Manitoba to the Canadian university championship in 1996... Competition dates: July 23-28 · Cailie O'Hara, a former member of the junior national field hockey team, made the jump to the senior national squad this year and joined the team for tours of South Africa and Chile, where she played in 13 games for Canada.
