www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday June 29, 2007 - 29 Buzz, Bulldogs boast balanced scoring Little League Minor districts Oakville Little League is hosting the Ontario District 1 Minor (10-and-under) championships, beginning tomorrow and concluding next Friday (July 6) at Cornwall Park. The double-knockout tournament will feature teams from Dundas, Ancaster, Stoney Creek, Erindale, High Park and Oakville. The Oakville squad is coming off a dominant showing at last weekend's Ancaster Minor Tournament, hammering Stoney Creek 14-1 in the final to cap an undefeated competition. Oakville and the defending champion, High Park, will open the tournament tomorrow with a 1 p.m. game. A full schedule is available on the Oakville Little League website (www.oakvillelittleleague.com). Continued from page 28 so we think we can get in his head. After a couple goals, some of our players will just yell stuff at him from the bench." Gallant said the Buzz won't pay special attention to any of the Bulldogs' forwards, opting instead to play a team defensive game. Halton Hills boasts a balanced offence, evidenced by the fact the Bulldogs were the only team in the Eastern Conference to have four players finish in the top 20 in conference scoring. Nine players scored 10 or more goals this year. The Buzz has similar depth, however, as Barrick, Harry Hristopoulos, Josh Ruys, Spencer Taugher, Taylor Sykes, Reggie Traccitto, Dylan Gilbert and Ryan Abu-Ali all reached double-digits in goals. After tonight's opener, the series will resume Wednesday with Game 2 in Georgetown. Oakville will host the third game next Friday. NOTES: Connor Gamble, Gilbert, Traccitto, Barrick and Gallant scored for Oakville against Barrie, with Abu-Ali earning three assists... Abu-Ali scored both the equalizer and game-winner in the Buzz's overtime win over Halton Hills. Gallant added a hat trick and Ethan O'Connor, Mike Bentivegna and Traccitto also tallied... Abu-Ali scored three times in Oakville's loss in Georgetown Saturday. Harry Hristopoulos and Gilbert had the other Buzz goals...
