Bentley received thunderous applause when he noted this meant the Oakville training centre will receive $615,708.75 while the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793 Training Centre, also located in Oakville, will receive $1,987,500. Summer job fair here tomorrow The Service Canada Centre for Youth (SCCY) - Oakville will host a Job Fair Thursday to help link students with employers. The SCCY - Oakville is cohosting the first annual Oakville/Burlington regional student job fair tomorrow at the Atrium Conference Centre. The job fair runs from 1-4 p.m. and the Atrium Conference Centre is located at 5420 North Service Rd., off Burloak Drive. The event will include free booth set-up for employers and will promote student employment by providing networking opportunities for hundreds of area youths. SCCYs have been successfully helping employers and students with summer jobs for more than 35 years. In 2006, the SCCY filled over 500 jobs with secondary and post-secondary students. "With this event, we will help students identify where the jobs are and how they can best apply for them," said Amira Masud, Supervisor of the SCCY. "This event is just one way to highlight the importance of getting that first job for some students, or finding career-related work experience for others. A summer job, a stepping stone to a career." SCCYs link youth and employers and provide young people with job postings, interview advice, résumé building and job search strategies. SCCYs also provide employers with a location to post job openings and offer valuable information on health and safety in the workplace.
