The head shaving -- of nearly a year's worth of hair growing -- was the culmination of a challenge he'd issued earlier this spring to his school in efforts to raise money for cancer research. Lowe's only cousin Eric Shaw died in January at age 17 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Lowe is raising funds in honour of his cousin and his team at Relay for Life was called For the Love of Eric. The first cut went to student Michael Mazza, while Lowe's teacher Diana DaSilva finished the job.
