With just two weeks to go, teams are working hard to achieve their fundraising goals before the big event on Friday, June 1. For Braden Hanna, a Grade 12 Appleby College student and captain of The Colborne Team, fundraising started even earlier this year. Since July 2006, Braden and his team, which is made up of employees and customers of The Colborne on Lakeshore, have been working hard to accomplish their goal: to be Relay's top fundraising team. They have also been actively using the Relay For Life online fundraising tool at www.cancer.ca/relay to collect pledges from family and friends living outside of Oakville. The fundraising doesn't stop there! This week, including today, The Colborne Team hosted a special Jellybean count at the café, which is located at 174 Lakeshore Rd. East. Tickets to enter the Jellybean count are $2 a ticket or 3 for $5. The person with the correct guess will win an iPod Nano. Last year The Colborne Team raised $7,654.64, to date the team has raised $3,005.
