He graduated from the Sheridan College Theatre programme in 1981 and went on to complete the one-year acting master class at the HB Studio. He has directed over thirty productions including Amadeus, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Steel Magnolias, The Birthday Party, Oliver and most recently, Cabaret (as well as performing the MC). THE MARGO JAMIESON TRIO Margo has entertained for many years throughout the Greater Toronto area both on Solo Piano/Keyboards or as leader of the Margo Jamieson Trio. Together the swinging combo of piano, bass and drums will create either the magic of an intimate ambience or cause any room to sit up and take notice! HÉLÈNE VINET Hélène Vinet lives and works in Oakville. She divides her time between her home studio and works in the interior design industry part-time. Her continuous education in art classes, is to improve her relation with light, form and colour. Born in Montreal, her academic background is in Interior Design, hence her attraction for architecture, landscapes and fine details. DIANA BERNASIEWICZ Diana has studied violin since she was 4 years of age. She is in her 2nd season with the Halton Youth Symphony and is currently studying with Pierre Gagnon, director of the Oakville Suzuki Association. Diana recently performed as an ensemble member in W.E.S.T.'s production of The Secret Garden directed by Paul Groulx and continues to study Musical Theatre with Judith Lander. DINA DAMETTO Dina is honoured to be a part of the Mayor's Awards Celebrating the Arts! Her most recently enjoyed roles are: Matron Mama Morton in Chicago, Daphne in The Perfect Wedding and Fritze in Cabaret. CAUSTAN DE RIGGS Caustan De Riggs is a Stand-up Comedian, Actor and Hip Hop Artist who was inspired at a young age to pursue his own career in the positive entertainment industry. He began his career in 2001 as a member of the STA Bust-a-Guts Improv group and he can be seen in a variety of venues throughout Southern Ontario. MEGAN ANDERSON Megan Anderson is pleased to perform for you tonight at this fine event. This year she has played the role of Mary in "The Secret Garden" at West End Studio Theatre. Good luck everybody! Specializing in the creation and production of new and innovative Canadian works in both the contemporary and commercial genres, the InMotion Dance Company will be part of the exciting and entertaining line-up at The Mayor's Awards Celebrating the Arts taking place on May 12. A Soirée des arts filled with magic and mingling n one week the Oakville Arts Council and the Town of Oakville will bring art enthusiasts and supporters together for the premier art event of the season - The Mayor's Awards Celebrating the Arts. Evocative of Paris at night, guests will be drawn into the world of performing and visual arts as they wander through a tree-lined streetscape. Strains of music and laughter mingled with the scent of culinary delights prepared by Trident Catering will tempt and delight the senses. Entertainment will unfold around guests who will be free to stand and watch a visual artist sculpt or to sit comfortably at a bistro table sipping complimentary wine or champagne as they watch a young violinist perform. Hosted and directed by Yo Mustafa, awardwinning actor, teacher and director, this interactive evening will envelop our guests in a I night of artistic magic. Most importantly we will be celebrating those that go above and beyond to make our community vibrant with the arts! A silent auction will run throughout the evening with more than 60 items available including art from local artists, gift certificates featuring a stay at a country bed and breakfast, music and art lessons, jewellery and more. MAUREEN FAUTLEY Maureen has been involved in Community Theatre for over 20 years - on the stage, everything from pantomines to classics including Amadeus with W.E.S.T in Oakville and Death of a Salesman with burloak Theatre to original works such as including Memory Shadows with the Burlington Little Theatre. CYNDY MACFARLANE Cyndy is delighted by the invitation to perform at the 2007 Mayor's Awards Celebrating the Arts. No stranger to Oakville's Centre for the Performing Arts, Cyndy has appeared both in the Studio Theatre in the musical farce The Saloonkeeper's Daughter, and on the main stage in W.E.S.T.'s 2006 production of Cabaret as Fraulein Schneider. ROBIN HOLLINGDRAKE Ontario College of Art and Design, and Sheridan's School of Crafts and Design. Recent exhibitions in Oakville, at Ristorante Julia's, and The Gallery Shop @ Oakville Galleries. My language is in colours, values, textures, lines and brushwork. Art doesn't care where you begin, it's always a journey of discovery with surprise endings." SUSAN APPLEWHAITE Susan is a graduate of Corona Academy of Dramatic Arts in London England where she won the LAMDA Gold Medal for Acting. She studied jazz, modern and ballet, receiving the Royal Academy Elementary Certificate. She studied voice in London and Toronto and has sung on recordings with some of the most respected Canadian producers.
