12 - The Oakville Beaver, Friday April 13, 2007 www.oakvillebeaver.com Investigation continues at Munn's Creek Playground GIRLS EXPRESSIONS OF SPRING Halton Regional Police are continuing their investigation at Munn's Creek Park playground after numerous razor blades were found in the mulch. At this point, police say they're unsure if this was a deliberate or accidental act. The park was closed until Wednesday after Town of Oakville Parks and Open Space staff finished inspecting the playground with metal detectors to ensure its safety. A resident reported finding three blades in the playground last week they're the kind you would find in a hardware store after which Parks and Open Space staff discovered five more. Police say a Grade 8 student also reported finding "a bunch" of razors in the playground over March Break. He disposed of the blades in a nearby garbage. All of the blades police have come across so far are rusty, so they appear to have been in the playground for some time. Anyone with information related to this incident should contact 20 Division (Oakville) at 905-825-4777 ext 2210 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222TIPS (8477).
