Meanwhile, Pressell remained tied for the lead until the final hole, when Birdie Kim holed a bunker shot to steal a oneshot victory. Sunday, at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage, California, the pressure of a major again played a factor. This time, however, it helped Pressell, now 18, to break Post's record that had stood since 1968. Even Canada's first female LPGA player wondered why it took so long. "Yes, I am surprised," said Post, who won the LPGA championship just 19 days after her 20th birthday. "We've gone through a lot of youth cycles and there are more majors for them to aim for. Sometimes they only held two when I was playing." At the same time, Post understands why it is so tough for young players to win. "A major really tests your nerves," she said.
