Heroux is a retired mother of five and grandmother of eight. In her working life, she was a healthcare aide at Allendale and was also very active in the Ontario Public Service Employees Union at the local and provincial levels. As a nomination contender, she said she would like to see true electoral reform, better coverage for the disabled and better medical coverage for seniors. Marquis, a Kilbride native who sought the local nomination last time around, but lost to Anwar Naqvi, was the NDP candidate in the DufferinCaledon riding during the 2006 election. If elected, the political science student said he looks forward to representing the people of Halton and fighting for a green, prosperous and just society. Oakville resident Wagner currently works for the City of Hamilton as a parks co-ordinator and is also the owner of a small on-line media business. On his agenda are the environment and the war in Afghanistan, which he said needs to be completely re-evaluated. Each of the candidates will give a prepared speech at Tuesday's meeting and then answer questions from members in attendance. All NDP members living within Halton riding are entitled to vote for a candidate. Members who were in good standing last year but haven't renewed their membership for 2007 can do so at the meeting and then vote. Balloting will continue until one candidate receives a majority of votes. For more information visit http://haltonndp.ca. IN N TA S G IN V SA T S Chisholm Educational Centre 1484 Cornwall Rd.
