Elizabeth Govia faces charges of nine counts of fraud over $5,000 and three counts of uttering forged documents. Money from the local daycare facility, which closed last year due to bankruptcy, was allegedly misappropriated from both the facility and "several of its customers," police say. They allege the money was fraudulently taken from the centre between 2003 and 2006. The latest Kettle Campaign ­ money dropped into kettles stationed at sites around the community and at local events during the holiday season ­ raised a total of $96,840. That's down from the more than $106,000 raised during the 2005 campaign and shy of the goal the organization set to meet a growing need in town.
