www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday September 13, 2006 - 23 Communication initiative to support local businesses A new joint venture by the Oakville Economic Development Alliance (OEDA) and the Oakville Chamber of Commerce will be announced at the Mayors' Business Breakfast on Thursday. The Chamber and the OEDA have partnered with Your Local Marketplace (YLM), a provider of on-line business directory services, to produce an On-Line Business Directory for the Oakville business community. "We have several objectives for this initiative," said Mayor Ann Mulvale. "We wanted to provide an opportunity to profile and promote local businesses both within our own community and to consumers outside of Oakville. We also wanted to be sure, as a community, we were doing all we could to support local businesses by providing easy access to leading edge tools. Partnering with YLM gives us the edge in both data and technology. Partnering with the Chamber gives us the support and expertise of the Oakville business community." Mary Cardamone, President of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce added: "We are very excited about this initiative. It has taken almost a year of intense work to get us to this point. Providing this Business Directory is very much in line with the Chambers' new strategic plan and mission to foster a healthy economic environment in Oakville. We are working hard to provide our members with the resources they need to compete. Our businesses are the economic engine of our community. With this On-Line Directory it means anyone with Internet access, anywhere in the world, can find an Oakville business." ADVERTORIAL Why do you never clean your mattress?
