The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday May 31, 2006 - 15 Helping out WALKING FOR A CAUSE: Local community members, dog lovers and canine companions gathered at the Lions Foundation of Canada on Wilson Street Sunday for the National Purina Walk for Dog Guides. Now in its 21st year, the walk attracts thousands of people and dogs in 150 communities across Canada to raise donations in support of Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides ­ a national organization that trains Dog Guides to assist Canadians with disabilities. More than 100 people attended the Oakville walk to raise $15,000 with a total of over $35,000 raised in Oakville this year.
