This production garnered rave reviews when it played in Gananoque last spring, and in Barrie two weeks later. I Oughta Be In Pictures is the story of Libby Tucker who leaves New York, showing up at her estranged Hollywood scriptwriter father, Herb‘s small bungalow in West Hollywood, announcing she wants to get into the movies. Herb‘s "temporaryâ€"permanent" of Greater Toronto girlfriend Steffy Blondell answers the door and the fun begins. "This is a good story about a heroic 19â€"yearâ€"old girl who manâ€" ages to build bridges within her own family, and find out about the father she never knew," explains Beattie. "This play has something to say to the public. You‘ll laugh a lot and you‘re probably going to cry." Beattie has gathered the origiâ€" nal cast back for an October tour which will take them to St. Catharines, Markham, Oakville, then to Niagara Falls, Petrolia, Brampton, _ Owen _ Sound, Waterloo, ending in Saint John and Moncton, New Brunswick. Framing Fine Art is Oakville‘s most imaginative Picture Framing Art Centre. Balkan played the role of Libby originally at the Grand Theatre in London, Ontario. Balkan has appeared on stage in Canada and the United States. Mo Bock plays Libby‘s father Herb.
