It received 185 oral representations and 116 written briefs. As a result, the commission amended its boundaries for 76 of 103 electoral districts in Ontario. However, the legislation hit a snag in the Toryâ€"dominated Senate and a compromise was reached to suspend the commisâ€" sion until June 22, 1995 after completion of its second report. In fact, after the Toryâ€"appointâ€" ed commission tendered its first report last February, the Liberal government pushed through legisâ€" lation scrapping it entirely. According to Oakvilleâ€"Milton Liberal MP Bonnie Brown, there is a possibility the government might form a new commission because many MPs, herself included, are not pleased with the new boundaries. Whether this happens depends on the Liberal government which has until June 22nd of next year to either accept the commission‘s amended report or strike up anothâ€" er commission and start over. The Oakville riding, however, would not include all of Oakville. Instead, all residents living north of Upper Middle Road would be combined with some residents of Burlington and Halton Hills and all of Milton in a massive Halton Centre Riding. Krista McLean, with the help of a friend, was one of the many stuâ€" dents participating in the QEP event.
