Snowball was Street‘s major project this summer at Sheridan College‘s International Summer School of Animation. If the film turns out to be a success, Street says he will enter it in film festivals in Europe and Bombay. This was the third year Street participatâ€" ed in Sheridan‘s summer program which attracts artists from all over the world. "I like being able to do things I feel are creative," he says. "It‘s really so satisfying just to make someâ€" thing with my hands." After graduation, he decided to pursue a career as a freelance artist. Since then, he has worked as designer and carâ€" toonist for Catholic New Times, and he has worked By KATY CLARK Special to the Beaver For the past three months, Philip Street has worked on twoâ€"andâ€"aâ€"half minutes of film. But his work isn‘t even close to being finished. "I am very glad I did it," says Street. "The program at Sheridan is really unique. The only other school that teaches classical animation in North America is in Los Angeles." Although Street has been working as a cartoonist and freelance artist for several years, he never had much art instruction until he came to Sheridan. Street started drawing seriously during his early teens, but when he graduated from high school, he chose to study English and Classics at the University of Toronto.
