Traditional native teachings at Crawford Lake Go batty at Mountsberg next month Crawford Lake Conservation Area is hosting some special evenine events this summer. On Sunday, Aug. 14th, join in for an evening of traditional native teachings. A special blend of nature‘s teas will be served, followed by participation in native games, dance, and storyâ€" telling. The event is scheduled for 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and is available by preâ€"registration only. To register for the event, please call (905) 854â€"0234. Participation is limited. Cockburn Centre for Birds of Prey. The centre is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy a walk through the exhibit gallery, see live birds of prey presentations at 1 and 3 p.m., tour the Wildlife Walkway with live, injured birds of prey, see farm animals in the Cameron Barn, stroll the scenic hiking trails or enjoy a quiet picâ€" nic. Don‘t miss your chance to spend an evening with the bats this summer. On Aug. 14th and 20th, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., the staff at Mountsberg will be explaining the myths and behaviors of these amazing creatures. Have a close encounter with a live bat or stand back and watch them flitter in the night sky.. Aug. 14th will be set aside for those families with small children.
